Pregnancy Test NYC (BHCG blood testing)
Recent Patient Comments
After taking two store-bought pregnancy tests and both came out positive I knew it was time to get to a doctor for some professional testing. I am happy to say I am officially pregnant, healthy and happy and Dr. F. made the whole thing go quickly and easily. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and the staff at the clinic for helping me at the beginning of what is sure to be a long and wonderful journey.

I may be pregnant, what should I do?
It is very important that you should do a pregnancy test as soon as possible. At this point you should stop smoking and drinking. It is vital that you make an appointment with a doctor. Once you see a doctor you can verify that you are pregnant, and in the case that you are, plan appropriately. Studies have shown that early diagnosis of pregnancy improves the quality of prenatal care for the child, the health of the woman and helps give an accurate due date.
What are the early signs of pregnancy?
1. Missed periods
2. Nausea/vomiting - commonly known as “morning sickness,” this can occur at any time through the day.
3. Breast tenderness
4. Frequent urination
5. Fatigue
If you are in any doubt at all that you may be pregnant, you should go to a doctor for an accurate pregnancy test.
Should I do an at-home pregnancy test?
At-home pregnancy tests usually proclaim to have a 99% accuracy, however in reality, the accuracy varies greatly. Some brands are considerably more sensitive and can give a positive test with very good accuracy the first day of your missed period, while many will not be able to detect a pregnancy until much later. To be sure, you should get a blood test at your doctor’s office.
When should I go to the doctor?
As soon as possible after you believe you may be pregnant. Most women see a doctor after their first missed period. At this point you can confirm your pregnancy and make an appropriate plan with your doctor.
Call today to make an appointment. Our Urgent Care New York is conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan at 274 Madison Ave(between 39-40 streets) Suite #304, New York, NY 10016. To schedule an appointment call us at 212 696 5900
What should I expect at the doctor’s office?
Our doctors will ask a series of questions including the date of your last period, if you have been sexually active, if you use contraception, the typical time between your periods, and if you are experiencing any symptoms of pregnancy. Most patients come to the doctor after their first missed period or a positive at-home pregnancy test. At this point, we preform a much more accurate HCG test from your bloodwork. The blood is drawn in the office and results will be available 3-4 days later. You will receive a call with your results.
If you are pregnant, we can tell you how far along you are in the pregnancy and provide a referral to a gynecologist. It is vital that you see a doctor as soon as possible when you think you are pregnant to confirm the at-home pregnancy test and begin prenatal care.
